How this information is used

Data collected using Google Analytics are used to improve the performance of the website and its content. Apart from Google, these data are not shared with any third-party. The information is used to determine:

  • The number of users of the website, the number of unique users, the number of new and returning users, popular pages, popularity rankings of our pages by topic, time spent on each page, and so on.

Data collected using Google AdSense is used to serve advertisements based on your interaction with this site or other sites.

Information sent by your web browser

The data are stored in Access logs and Error logs irrespective of your cookie preferences, and considered “required”. The data includes:

  • The IP address of your computer. IP addresses are used by your computer every time you are connected to the Internet. Your IP address is a number that is used by computers on the network to identify your computer.
  • The operating system on your device and the web-browser that you use, e.g., “Mozilla Firefox 102, on Windows 10” or “Google Chrome version 82, on MacOS”, and so on.
  • The screen-resolution of your device.
  • The URL of the page that you requested.
  • The date and time when the URL was requested.

How this information is used

These logs may be used by our Hosting Provider for security. Logs are not shared with any third-party.

Information sent to us via e-Mail

You may choose to contact us via e-mail. If you do, the following information is stored by us:

  • Your name, your email address, the IP address of the computer you used to send the mail, and other information in the header of your email. See this article for more information

How this information is stored and used

  • We assume that by writing to us you have given us consent to publish your letter and your name (first name) on the Outsider.
  • Your e-mail address and your surname (last name) will not be published. Please do use a fake name!
