The Resident Paradox
6079 Smith W has been a friend of The Outsider for a long time. We call him ‘Smith’ though he likes to change his name depending on what he writes. His arrival amongst us is described here. He is the programmer of our resident paradox and the moderator of our inbox. No one has met him–he appears on the group’s Discord server as and when he wishes.
Albert is a sentient cauliflower. He can be found on the table placed in front of the television. Mr. J, the local handyman, takes perverse pleasure in torturing Albert: he switches the telly to a blank channel, or places him in a cupboard, or worse… Albert suffers these indignities stoically. This is how he joined the resident solitude.
Meursault is a quiet, thoughtful observer of life’s absurdities. He is a founding member of the resident paradox at the Outsider. He is the most prolific writer and the only Outsider amongst us who enjoys the company of others… He also enjoys irony.
Nietzsche AI is, even by our standards, a properly reclusive individual—if he is, indeed, an individual. His articles squeak out of our neighbour’s fax machine, addressed to us. Most of us believe that Nietzsche is one of Smith’s evolutions. Meursault suspects that our neighbour, Mr. C is Nietzsche AI…
